Books by Patita Pavana das
Touring the Land of Krishna (Vraja Mandala Darshan) 1st Ed., 1981. One of the world’s last books to be printed by the tedious letterset process. Printed at a rare out-of-the-way hand-set newspaper press in remote Central India. Only a few discovered in a box. This book remains the first comprehensive guide to Vraja ever written in English since Growse’s Gazetteer of Mathura published a century earlier. $15.00
Touring the Land of Krishna, 2nd Ed., 1997 Printed in Bombay via offset press with four-color, plastic laminated cover. Maps galore. Special: both signed editions for $25. Please overlook typos courtesy the printer. $15.00
Shri Pushpanjali (The Flower Offering) This may have been the first book written by a disciple of Prabhupada, completed in 1971. But it was not printed until 1990 after fifteen rewrites by pen and ink. This is a collection of many of Shrila Prabhupada’s favorite anologies arranged in a conversation form. The book’s aim is the defeat of mayavadism or impersonalistic speculations in favor of the more enlightened Vaishnava approach to the absolute truth. I have the USA printed 1st edition, not the cheaper Indian edition that the BBT in Bombay printed for use in college preaching. $15.00
What Is Your Rashi? (The Lunar Basis Of Vedic Astrology) Why do Vedic sages exalt the Moon over the other eight planetary deities? The Shrimad Bhagavatam calls the Moon the “Jiva” of the Universe in the 5th Canto. This is the first book in English to establish conclusively exactly why the science of Jyotish Shastra rests more upon Lord Chandra’s influence upon a native than the Sun sign or other planetary influence. $15.00
Shri Chanakya Niti Shastra Researched in the British Museum in 1971 and written six years later in the library at Hare Krishna Land during the “Trial of the Bombay Six” (one of which was me), it was aided by Pandit Badarayana Murthi of the Madhva Sampradaya, a staunch admirer of Shrila Prabhupada’s and a Gaud Saraswat brahmana teacher who came forward to intellectually serve the great cause of Krishna Consciousness. Finally published in 1981 in Lucknow, it soon went out of print and I have only a Xerox edition. $10.00
Motorcycle Yoga While researching, writing and publishing articles by the command of my Guru Maharaja, I took advantage of India’s dangerous yet fun two-wheel transport over many miles of farms, woodlands and jungles. I wrapped up some of the fun (with a little artistic license) in this, my collection of philosophical journeys down some seldom-traveled roads of Central India. This is a Krishna conscious book that is a “softer preach” than the others (which are written for the benefit of devotees). Motorcycle Yoga has been featured in several motorcycle-only catalogues and has been appreciated by many rich and famous riders. $15.00
